SMART announces new director of corporate market development
Entrepreneur assumes new leadership role for SMART’s corporate markets
CALGARY, Alberta --- July 10, 2006 --- SMART Technologies Inc. announces the appointment of Rick Kennedy to the newly created role of director, corporate market development. An entrepreneur, Kennedy has more than 20 years’ experience in the fields of technology, corporate learning and publishing. He will be responsible for leading and implementing corporate market development for SMART’s interactive whiteboards and group collaboration products. Prior to joining SMART, Kennedy was the CEO and founder of Digital Content Factory Ltd., a publishing business specializing in learning material and online content for the corporate training and higher education markets. He was also the co-founder and executive vice president of PBSC Computer Training Centres, one of Canada’s most successful corporate education businesses. Kennedy holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business (University of Western Ontario).
During its 20 year history, SMART has developed a substantial corporate customer base and recognizes the potential for additional growth. The company’s flagship product, the SMART Board™ interactive whiteboard, is currently used in boardrooms, hospitals, courtrooms, locker rooms and training rooms in upwards of 100 countries worldwide.
